One of my big questions regarding this linear DUP shenanigans I’ve been running is whether or not to run it to failure, or to call a complete cycle 8 weeks, dial back down, and start over with the intent of surpassing the best of the cycle before it.
Like say I finish this one squatting an easy 415/425. I would dial it way down, do hella volume, and slowly build back up beyond it.
I guess I’m just not sure how far back to go. 365? Could easily add 10 lbs per week and end up squatting an easy 445 in 8 weeks. Then maybe take it down to 385 and squat 465 at the end of the next one. Idk, it seems slow and predictable but really I would squat 500 before the end of the year (theoretically).
Deadlift is in a somewhat similar scenario, although I’m much more sure of what I need for it. Singles on Monday, 4” blocks for 4 weeks, 2” blocks for 4 weeks on Fridays.
Bench is basically on autopilot. Volume block followed by intensity block; rinse, wash, repeat.
Rambling pretty much but it’s just getting close to time for me to be thinking about the next step. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Plan for today is to drink my coffee, go check out the weights and bars that this dude is selling, work on this annotated bibliography thing, clean this house, and bench #3hunna for 7.
Can’t believe I squatted 405 that easily ahhhhh.
